Polsek Cileungsi, under the leadership of Chief Commissioner Edison, successfully uncovered a case of illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tampering. The breakthrough came after a 4-day undercover operation where Chief Commissioner Edison posed as a courier. The operation was detailed on the Polsek Cileungsi Instagram account on Saturday (April 5, 2025).

Key Details:

• Initiation of Operation: The operation began with Chief Commissioner Edison disguising himself as a courier and surveilling the area for 4 days.

• Discovery: The suspected warehouse for the illegal LPG tampering was located in the Kirab Garuda Cileungsi area. Chief Commissioner Edison noticed a pickup truck loaded with gas cylinders exiting the premises.

• The Chase: Upon spotting the truck, Edison, along with his team, immediately pursued and intercepted it near the Cileungsi flyover.

• Seizure: The pickup truck, covered with a tarpaulin, was found to contain several 12-kilogram gas cylinders ready for distribution. Two perpetrators were in the vehicle during the capture, but one managed to escape.

• Confession: Interrogation of the apprehended individuals revealed their intention to sell the illegally filled gas to a middleman in Tangerang. The 12-kilogram cylinders were filled by tampering with the 3-kilogram subsidized LPG cylinders.

• Seizure of Evidence: A pickup truck and the tampered gas cylinders were confiscated and taken to the Polsek Cileungsi headquarters.

Ongoing Investigations:

The police are currently interrogating the captured suspect to unravel and expand the network of illegal gas tampering operations, potentially implicating further accomplices.
